Among the many important issues to be decided at next month's General Convention of the Episcopal Church, the choosing of the next Presiding Bishop is as important as any. Louie Crew - well-known advocate for the full inclusion of gays and lesbians within the Episcopal Church - has interviewed all but one of the nominees for the job. His transciptions of those interviews can be read on the Witness Magazine site, noted below.
It's important to note that Louie Crew is far from being a one-trick pony in the three-ring circus we all cherish, i.e., the Episcopal Church. While he is best known for having founded IntegrityUSA - the premier grassroots voice for full inclusion of LGBT persons in the Episcopal Church, he has served this church at every level: parish; diocesan; provincial; all the way to the General Convention itself. The mere list of his activities gives a sense of how deeply and wide his commitment runs. Crew's questions of the interviewees, and their answers, help give us some idea of what the General Convention will wrestle with in Columbus, OH, June 12-21.
The interviews may be accessed here.
