Roads to You: Celebration of One World, at Stude Hall, Rice University at 8 PM, Thurs, May 25
This is a musical program featuring acclaimed Jordanian pianist and composer, Zade Dirani, and an International Musical Assembly of 36 musicians from 18 different countries who share a deep commitment to peace, tolerance and international understanding, which they seek to promote through the universal language of music. The orchestra will be joined onstage by the United Nations Association Choir based here in Houston. The event is sponsored by The Boniuk Center for Religious Tolerance at Rice University. The Progressive Forum presents Al Gore - On Global Warning: An Inconvenient Truth, Wed., June 7 | Hobby Center, Sarofim Hall
Al Gore, the 45th Vice President of the United States, will present a visually stunning, multimedia presentation called “An Inconvenient Truth,” which focuses on the urgent need to solve global warming. His presentation is a personal distillation of his 30 years of involvement with the issue, an inspiring bipartisan message which confronts the impact of warming on our global civilization and offers solutions that strengthen our economy.
